What is a Bench Warrant?

A bench warrant is a variation of an arrest warrant. It is issued by a judge. If you have a bench warrant out for your arrest, you probably failed to appear in court when you promised to do so. Such a warrant is then entered into Warrant Casesthe Department of Justice computer system. When you are stopped by a police officer who runs your driver's license number through the system, your warrant will show up and you will be arrested. What's worse - you may not be able to bail out of it if you have warrants on other cases or if you have failed to appear before the court on prior occasions.

A judge can issue such a warrant if you:

  • Did Not Show Up in Court on the Date You Were Scheduled to be Present There
  • Failed to Pay a Fine or Penalty
  • Did Not Show Up for Community Service
  • Failed to Pay Child Support as Mandated by the Family Court

Why Call on Orange County Warrant Attorney?

If you know you have such a warrant out, you should contact a skilled, experienced attorney. At Coffey & Coffey, we have significant experience dealing with Orange County courts and can get you the best possible results on your case. Dealing with a warrant yourself is hopeless. You will be considered a "fugitive from justice." Your driver's license could be suspended until the warrant is cleared. Excuses will not work before a judge. You need the professional legal expertise of an Orange County warrant recall attorney who has had a successful track record in recalling bench warrants.

If you have a bench warrant out for your arrest, we may be able to appear on your behalf if the case is a misdemeanor and have the warrant recalled or removed from the system so your case can be handled. We will strive to resolve your case and keep you out of jail. You may not have to appear if your case is a misdemeanor or felony. In such instances, we may be able to argue for a bail reduction, get the bail posted and still keep you out of jail.

If you have questions relating to an outstanding warrant, call Coffey & Coffey immediately to schedule a complimentary consultation with an experienced Orange County recalled-warrant lawyer.
