Misdemeanors: The penalties could include a brief sentence in county jail, counseling (a 52-week program); community service with CalTrans; fines and restitution; restraining orders and "Stay-Away" order from the victim and "No Harm, No Strike" order for couples.
 Felonies: In addition to all the penalties mentioned above, the penalty for domestic violence felonies in Orange County could range from a few months in county jail to three years in state prison.
Also, if convicted of a domestic violence charge in Orange County, you could lose your right to own a firearm. You could lose custody of your children or visitation rights. And if you are not a United States citizen, you may even be deported to your country of origin.
